Star Student
Ever so often, we come across a student who deserves to be recognized as a cut above the rest. That’s why Living Faith Christian Academy introduces the Star Student program. If you know a child or have a child who enjoys and participates regularly in volunteer work, community service activities, has an extraordinary talent within the performing arts or has recently received a prestigious award or accolade… TELL US ABOUT THEM! We are now accepting star student nominations for our next issue. Fill out the form below.
This issue’s Star Students are two of Living Faith High School’s very own seniors, Jalysa Derden and Amanda Cooper. Jalysa and Amanda both placed in the Top 10 for the Miss Teen South Jersey Pageant. Ms. Derden went on to win the 1st runner-up position. The girls went through personal interviews and modeling training classes leading up to the November 8th event. Cooper and Derden were judged on personality, casual wear, and formalwear and were asked to answer the question, “What is your definition of a winner?” After placing first runner up, Jalysa Derden received prizes including a trophy, hours of pageant training, a confidence builder package and a free mother/daughter facial as well as an all-expense paid trip to Florida for the National Cities of America Pageant in December of 2009. As a Top 10 finalist, Amanda Cooper also qualifies for the Nationals pageant; both are considering participating in the 2009 affair. But for now, they are enjoying their senior year. Jalysa plans to go on to her college of choice and pursue a degree in sociology while Amanda also plans to pursue a degree in Elementary Education.
Congratulations to Both Amanda Cooper and Jalysa Derden for being stellar Star Students!
